Our client is a foreign company active in the production and distribution of special building materials, offering a wide range of innovative products for finishing with the purpose of improving the quality and comfort of human life.
In order to strengthen its position on the Romanian market, our customer is currently looking for a high professional in the position of CHIEF ACCOUNTANT for its head quarter in Constanta.
- The purpose of the Chief Accountant is to record and to consolidate in an effective and efficient manner all financial transactions of the company in order to provide accurate information to the General Manager.
- Records all financial transactions related (banks, salaries, petty cash, etc.) according to Romanian accounting standards and the company’s recording procedures.
- Records invoices issued by the company.
- Verifies payments of salaries for the company.
- Verifies and consolidates all accounting data.
- Updates and maintains all the statutory accounting documents related to the area of responsibility.
- Issues weekly and monthly fiscal and accounting reports
- Represent the company in relation with Romanian fiscal authorities
- Issues the balance sheet, trade balance, P&L report and all periodical financial report according to Romanian legislation
- Issues all taxes reports according to RAS and IAS regulations
- Identifies and resolves any exceptions to the process or problems that occur.
- Promptly provides reports to internal or external auditors regarding the area of activity.
- Ensures archiving according to established procedures.
- Suggests improvements to work flows and work process in order to maximize the sector’s efficiency and effectiveness.
- Prepares and updates operating procedures for the position’s area of responsibility.
- Introduces all necessary data related to the position’s area of responsibility into the system in an accurate way.
- University degree in accounting
- Certified Accountant by CECCAR or ACCA
- Previous experience (minimum 3 years in a similar position within a production company)
- Good knowledge of Romanian accounting system and IAS
- Good oral and written communication skills in English and Romanian
- Good knowledge of PC utilization including word processor, spreadsheets and databases utilization knowledge ¿ SAP or other ERP previous experience is a plus
- Good problem solving skills
- Good planning and organizing skills and the ability to manage the tight deadlines
