Our client is a leading international developer in the residential construction sector with well-established operations in Romania. To strengthen its position on the Romanian market, our customer is currently looking for a high professional in the position of:PROJECT MANAGER
RESPONSIBILITIES:
o Translates the strategic premises requirements into operational objectives.
o Plans and manages the activities of each construction project through the direct supervision of technical teams, consultants and other support personnel for each project.
o Ensures the resolution of problems within his/her scope of authority by liaising with other departments for their action and by escalating problems which are beyond his/her scope of authority to the executive director.
o Follows-up on problem resolution and escalate unresolved problems to the executive director/chairman.
o Monitors the progress towards reaching the objectives of the project and submits monthly progress reports.
o Permanently monitors the established business plans and budgets frames for each individual construction project.
o Approves the necessary evidence to ensure payment of goods or services received for the implementation of projects.
o Suggest improvements to work processes in order to maximize the quality of construction projects and reduces expenses.
o Uses personal time management techniques to carry out responsibilities in an efficient and effective manner.
o Selects and recommends appointment of competent individuals to form the project team and to implement the different objectives for the project.
o Motivates project team members through regular communications, by showing strong leadership and by evaluating the performance of team members¿ performance on a regular basis.
o Ensures procurement of goods and services for each project phase.
o Ensures reception and quality of goods and services purchased.
Education:
University degree in an appropriate field (management, engineering, business administration....)
Experience:
5 years experience in managing big construction projects
Required skills:
- Excellent knowledge of project management methodology and civil construction
- Excellent communication skills written and oral in Romanian and English,
- Good knowledge of PC utilization including word processor, spreadsheets and project management software.
- Good knowledge of budgeting methodology
- Excellent planning skills
- Good presentation skills
Required abilities:
- Able to work with little supervision
- Able to have distributive attention in order to supervise more teams and sites on the same time
- Good analytical and conceptual thinking
- Able to assume the entire responsibility for the entire project and its final product
- Able to work under pressure to meet short deadlines
