Our client is a France based main contractor specialized in geotechnical and civil engineering. Employing the latest technological methods and owing to own special civil engineering technologies and traditional and developed deep foundation methods, some hundred objects are standing on secure feet in lot of countries in Central Eastern Europe.
The Romanian subsidiary is one of the major civil engineering companies in Romania, with about 30 employees and a turnover of approximately EUR 10 million.
In order to consolidate, develop and improve the business and operation, our client is looking for a MANAGING DIRECTOR, based in Bucharest.
Main Responsibilities:
- Implement Company’s group mission and vision to develop the Romanian subsidiary into one of the first players on the Romanian deep-foundation market company;
- Adopt and implement group strategies and policies on local level;
- Prepare, submit, harmonize and control the realization of annual and long term business plans in agreement with Company’s group level objectives and targets;
- Review current organization, decision and reporting paths, administrative procedures, senior job profiles, responsibilities, make and harmonize proposals and milestones and execute actions independently in order to improve overall efficiency according to Company’s group policies and expectations;
- Review current finances, controlling, cash flow management, cost engineering, procurement policies and practices, labor cost allocation, and price calculation methodology, make and harmonize proposals and milestones and execute actions independently in order to facilitate improvements and increase efficiency;
- Provide regular business and progress reports in accordance with Company’s group requirements, local controlling and financial schemes;
- Supervise, control, assess, motivate, develop and improve the management and selected senior staff members directly, to achieve strategic and development goals;
- Practice the employer’s rights;
- Manage high level contact with relevant authorities, decision makers and the press, represent the Company at relevant professional conferences and events;
- Provide strategic support to Company’s Group Management;
- Other specific duties specified by Company’s Board and Group Management (Administrator).
- At least 5 years of medium or medium-top management experience in the building industry (experience in economics is an advantage);
- Proactive and supporting leader with proven successful track record supported by references and comprehensive industry specific network;
- Comprehensive knowledge of the Romanian deep foundation and construction market;
- Business awareness;
- Knowledge of and affinity to quality assurance (ISO);
- Proven ability of and strong orientation to systematic entrepreneurial and strategic thinking and achieving results;

Qualifications
- College or university degree in civil engineering / architecture (business administration and management are advantages);
- Fluency in Romanian and English (French and Hungarian are advantages);
- Computer literacy (MS Office);
- Clean driving license.
