Our client is a Romanian corporation engaged in planning, design, consulting, research and management of major road infrastructure projects, both in Romania and abroad.
In order to strengthen its position, our customer is currently looking for a high professional in the position of FINANCIAL CONTROLLER.
The purpose of the Financial Controller is to manage budgeting, financial analysis and forecasting of the shareholder's group of companies in an effective and efficient manner in order to maximize business performance.
Financial
Manages preparation of Annual Budget, reviews results against plan and recommends adjustments of the shareholder's group of company's budget.
Manages financial analyzes and recommends specific measures to increase profitability.
Manages forecasting and analysis section within Financial Department in order to provide accurate financial information of the shareholder's group of companies for internal and external clients.
Prepares capital budgeting for short and long term projects, including one-time promotional events.
Identifies and resolves any exceptions to the process or problems that occur.
Prepares all the reports and forecasts on the shareholder's group of company's financial activity as required by investors.
Verifies and summarizes financial performance reports and forecasts to meet management needs.
Prepares weekly and monthly financial reports according to established criteria.
Prepares weekly reports on the sector’s activities and progress towards achieving objectives.
Customer Service
Provides explanations of financial status, analyzes and forecasts different financial scenarios.
Provides assistance and advice to department managers on all matters regarding financial issues.
Auditing
Examines records, transactions, reports, operating practices and documentation to ensure compliance with established internal control procedures.
Verifies assets and liabilities by comparing items to documentation.
Appraises adequacy of internal control systems and recommends improvements.
Immediately reports any discrepancies to the shareholder with recommended line of action.
Supports internal and external auditors during the auditing process.
Ensures archiving according to established procedures.
Development
Develops short-term projects in order to increase department’s effectiveness and efficiency.
Suggests improvements to work flows and work process in order to maximize the sector’s efficiency and effectiveness.
Manages preparation and updating of procedures for the financial department.
Information system
Ensures an accurate translation of data into IFRS system.
Ensures back up of all data.
Ensures the introduction of accurate information in the IT system and produces the required reports
University degree in an appropriate field (accounting, finance, business administration)
5 years experience in Finance or Business Administration
3 year experience in a supervisory position

Good knowledge of Romanian accounting system
