Our client, TMD Friction Group is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of brake friction materials in the original equipment market of the automotive and brake industry. Its product portfolio comprises disc brake pads and drum brake linings for passenger cars and commercial vehicles together with brake pads for racing and friction materials for industry.
TMD Friction also supplies the global aftermarket with its Textar, Pagid, Mintex, Don, Cobreq, and Cosid brands. With locations in Germany and five other European countries, the USA, Brazil, Mexico, China, Japan and Malaysia, TMD Friction generated a turnover of 662 million euros in 2006 and employed 4,500 people worldwide.
In order to launch and strengthen its position on the Romanian market, our customer is currently looking for a high professional in the position of PROJECT MANAGER SOURCING & PURCHASING.
After an orientation period of about 8 months which will take place in Leverkusen, the position will be located in Romania.
Required tasks:
-Sourcing, selection and development of suppliers, in particular for Romania
- Conduct negotiations with suppliers including the conclusion of master agreements at an international level
- Recognize and utilize cost-saving potentials and synergies
- Expand and develop the existing supplier network by sourcing new suppliers (adopt an LCC structure)
- Cooperate in the establishment and implementation of cost reduction programs
- Perform supplier assessments, including Risk Assessment
- Graduate in Economics / Business Administration (BA or MBA) or commercial training with additional qualification in Purchasing / Supply Chain Management
- Independent, structured approach to problem solving
- Fluency in English and Romanian, both written and spoken, ability to conduct negotiations in both languages
- Familiarity with MS Office
- Team player
- Excellent communication skills
- Interpersonal / intercultural skills
