Job description:

PLC Architect is responsible for PLC (Power Line Carrier) communication based end-to-end systems solutions that meet the identified business demand.
Requirements:


- Design overall PLC architecture with focus on performance and reliability;
- Coupling networks between PLC modem and distribution grid , both in single phase and three phase applications;
- Selection of modulation techniques ( S-FSK , OFDM);
- Determining noise characteristics of typical low voltage grids;
- Selecting meshing algorithms to overcome distance limitations of point to point communication;
- Represent Elster and defend Elster's interests in the relevant standardization workgroups (IEC61334 , Prime , G3 );
- Coordinate PLC developments between the different research & development locations ( Kortrijk , Lampertheim and Romania) and products (data concentrators , meter communication modules , and multi-utility concentrator - MUC);
- Coordinating and managing sales engineering support to the sales teams;
- Benchmark existing solutions and drive together with procurement new technologies into the chip set market;
- Manage selection and technical relation with critical component suppliers;
- Interface with the security architect to translate general security requirements to PLC specific security requirements;
- Actively drive registration of potential patents.


CERINTE

- A BS/MS degree in a technical discipline (electronics and IT&C preferred)
- Proven industry experience in systems architecture design, delivery, and deployment;
- Experience with IPV6 and 6LowPan in particular is a plus;
- Very good technical understanding;
- Ability to work effectively as a member of a team in an international environment or independently, as necessary
- Planning, negotiation and communication skills;
- Excellent communication and documentation skills;
- Ability to work under pressure;
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills;
- Quality oriented;
- Desire for continuous self-improvement
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken (French, German and/or Spanish are a plus);
- Readiness to travel (driving license required).
