ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS / RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Take ownership of the development and support of M&D's sensor portfolio.
* Provide technical direction and leadership for development of these sensors.
* Assess new sensor technologies for use within M&D's instruments
* Provide status reports to key stakeholders
* Partner with Product Managers in the development of product specifications.
* Work with cross-functional teams engaged in product development.
* Work with multi-disciplinary teams based in sites across the world.
* Improve sensor performance and reliability.
* Identify and execute cost reduction initiatives.
QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS:
* Degree in Engineering/Science, or equivalent education and experience.
* Minimum 5 years' experience working in a relevant role within an industrial environment.
* Demonstrated ability to analyse and resolve problems.
* Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain relationships with co-workers
* Proven experience in the design and application of sensor systems
* Demonstrated experience acting as technical resource.
* Excellent English, both written and oral communication skills.
DESIRED:
* Knowledge of gas sensing technologies
* Experience in the development and test of new sensors and instruments
* Experience of the measurement and analysis of Partial Discharge signals
* Demonstrated experience throughout the product development process, including generation of specifications and handover to manufacturing.
* Demonstrated proficiency with PC business applications e.g. Microsoft Office applications – Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
