Our client is a busy pub/restaurant cooking food to a high standard. Approximately 80% of food is prepared and cooked from fresh ingredients on the premises allowing the chefs to be creative. The chef will have a core menu to cook from plus the chef specials board. The pub/restaurant is situated in a rural area so this position is ideal for someone who prefers the countryside.

To support the Kitchen Manager/Head Chef to deliver the best food experience in our pubs ensuring the customer leaves wanting to return.

Key Accountabilities
1. Work in the specific part of the kitchen ensuring the Grill Section is run and maintained to company procedures
2. Help the kitchen team delivers food, meeting customer expectations of time and quality, and every dish is delivered to specification every time, using appropriate communication methods with both BOH & FOH teams and customers
3. Ensure all Health, Safety and Hygiene policies and practices are in place and adhered to. Complete all relevant documentation
4. To report any faults/defects to Head Chef/Kitchen Manager and or Unit Manager
5. Ensure the appropriate systems are adhered to in order to help manage sessions effectively in relation to preparation, defrosting, date coding and waste management
6. Help place orders, record stock, wastage and report stock results on a weekly basis to achieve target margins as set by the Company
7. Carry out cleaning as directed by Kitchen Manager, Head Chef or Pub Manager. Ensure all end of day cleaning is completed as directed by cleaning rotas

Technical / Professional Expertise Required
• Previous experience of working in volume food operations
• Basic Food Hygiene qualification desirable
• Able to train and develop junior kitchen staff
Remuneration Package
• 6.50 per hour
• 40-48 hours per week
