Galliano Marine Service, LLC, located in Louisiana, U.S.A. is looking to fill the following positions:
HVAC/Refrigeration Service Technicians
- Self motivated with the ability to follow instructions, and manage a job from start to finish, which includes following up on return calls and parts replacement. Must be responsible to collect and gather correct information, so as to avoid repeat and unnecessary visits for this purpose.
- Must be a communicator with the up-line and down-line links of command.
- Must have a knowledge of the basic operation of a freon cycle.
- Must be able to troubleshoot refrigerant cycle problems, know and measure superheat, sub-cooling, refrigerant suction and discharge temperatures and pressures, ambient entering temperature, condenser discharge temperature, oil pressure, and oil differential pressures.
- Must be able to set compressor staging and un-loading.
- Must be able to field rebuild compressor heads and valve plates on semi- hermetic compressors, change or rebuild compressor oil pumps, and troubleshoot efficiency problems on compressors.
- Must be able to troubleshoot low temperature systems such as walk-in freezers and reach-in freezers, and medium temperature walk-in coolers and reach-in coolers, salad bars, milk cooers, and food cases, and ice makers.
- Must be able to troubleshoot high temperature systems such as split system air conditioning, chill water systems, package air conditioning, mini-split air conditioning and its components and accessories.
- Must be able to wire in components, perform electrical functions, wire in the electrical feed to new and replacement equipment, and do so in a safe fashion.
Understand simple and complex controls. Be able to install newly added components and replacement components. Must be able to troubleshoot and repair both safety and operational controls.
- Installation, repairs, programing and troubleshooting of VFD's will be a necessary part of the job. The Employer shall provide the classes in order to properly perform the services mentioned on the brands that the Employer uses. But in order to grasp the knowledge needed, a good knowledge of controls; both electric and electronic properties are the basic skills needed to pass this course.
- A knowledge of tools of the industry will be a must, to include, manifold gages, vacuum pump, refrigerant recovery equipment, Amprobe or similar clamp on amperage reader, multi-voltmeter, ohm reader, temperature probe, and hand tools of the trade.
- Above all, must have good work habits. No sloppy or sub-standard work will be allowed.
- 5 years minimal job experience
- Must be able to perform basic skills on a laptop computer, such as make out daily reports, do time sheets, use email system, and maintain files on equipment such as specification sheets, equipment cut sheets, and maintenance and operation manuals on equipment that is used on the vessels.
- Insurable with ability to operate a motor vehicle.
- Strong English language skills
