Ensures environmental compliance by providing oversight and assistance
to shipboard personnel in complying with international, federal, state, and
HAL laws and regulations and ECP requirementst hat apply to the
assigned ship. The EO is a non-watch standing officer with responsibility
for the oversight and verification of shipboard environmental compliance.
The EO has full access to all employees and to all areas of the ship.
1. Licensed and experienced as an Second Engineer or Second Officer (other qualifications maybe considered) and/or:
2. A four-year degree in an Environmental or Marine Transportation-related field of study (or equivalent).
3. Exceptional organization skills.
4. Exceptional communication a nd interpersonasl kills.
5. Must be fluent in English and have the ability to make presentations to large groups.
6. Auditing experience and qualifications are desirable.
7. Proactive and positive attitude and approach to environmental protection and regulatory compliance.
8. Ability to work acrossd epartmentabl oundaries.
9. Intermediate level computer skills; MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
works on board large passenger ships, 4 months on 2 months off.
