Fellowship Program Description:
As Powerstorm Energy expands, we are seeking highly motivated, mission-driven individuals with the skills, ambition, and passion to contribute directly to the success of lighting millions of homes with solar power.
The purpose of the fellowship is to provide exceptionally bright and motivated individuals with the opportunity to contribute to positive social change while gaining valuable hand-on experience in a rapidly growing organization.
As a Powerstorm Energy Fellow, you will be working with our professional team on critical projects with real and immediate impact on both the company and the emerging markets we serve. Fellows may also help to co-design projects with leadership based on their work and educational background, interests, and career aspirations. Each fellow will be expected to work collaboratively with various departments to achieve company goals, but will be responsible for working independently with minimal supervision at times. You will receive a living stipend as well as a separate housing stipend during your fellowship.
Candidates who perform exceptionally well may be considered for full-time employment with the company as availability and compatibility allow.
Position Description:
The Engineering Fellow is a multifunctional role. Fellows will work with the Local operations team and report to the distribution and supply chain manager. Fellows will also work closely with the company’s US based engineering department to receive work instructions, set up projects, receive technical guidance, and prioritize activities.
Fellows will contribute to several key areas of the company’s activities, including new product technical testing, evaluation and troubleshooting, training and support of regional technician/trainers, and ongoing development of processes to support the company’s activities. This role requires excellent communication and organizational skills, as well as the technical abilities required of a trained engineer.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform MESS product testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
- Act as a point of contact and liaison between local and US Engineering department regarding MESS system performance, troubleshooting system technical issues, and quality assurance.
- Support field-testing, data collection, and reporting on new products and appliances.
- Train local technical staff on new products as they are introduced.
- Identify possible performance issues with MESS, and assist in development to fix said issues.
- Write project reports and provide daily/weekly task logs as required.
- Participate in Technical Workshop Activities
- Become proficient at standard repair and refurbishment procedures and contribute to development of new additional services.
- Support Warehouse and distribution manager in conducting regular quality reviews and training new technicians on good repair practices.
- Communicate any technical or quality issues to Engineering department.
- Set an example as a role model for professionalism, efficiency, organization, and positive team culture.


CERINTE

Required Skills & Experiences:
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical field, preferably Electrical Engineering, Mechanical
- Engineering, or Industrial Engineering.
- Two-year minimum work experience as a technician, installer, and/or teacher.
- Completion of Form VI schooling minimum.
- Ability and drive to work independently.
- Highly motivated and willing to go the extra mile to accomplish goals.
- Excellent verbal and written English skills.
- Computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Office software. Must be able to
- complete data entry into Excel and write clear, professional emails in English.
Highly Desired Skills & Experiences:
- Additional technical training and certification.
- Leadership experience.
- Education and/or work experience in solar energy, or electronics workshops.
