The Storage Administrator focuses on continuous operations, project and change management of backup and recovery solutions. The main goal is to provide the highest backup success rate possible and to ensure restorability of customer's data - especially within the production environment and to achieve a high level of customer satisfaction.
Moreover, he is responsible for complex backup solutions; he is responsible for all change management of the backup concept as the whole. He also is responsible for the optimization and proactive support.
He/she works in close relationship with the Delivery Lead, who coordinates all the actions for the customer.
The Technical Owner main responsibilities are:
• to work on complex incidents,
• identify and solve problems,
• all change management in the environments under his/her responsibility
• define and execute work orders to implement changes,
• customer contact on the projects/tasks he/she is responsible for,
• provide consulting,
• implementation and system management,
• availability and capacity management.
To fulfil these tasks, regular standby and weekend work is expected.

Essential:
• Experience in HP-UX/UNIX/TRUE64/LINUX system administration
- OR Experience in NT/Win2000 Server/Win2003 Server knowledge
- Practical experience in HP Data Protector / Legato Networker/Backup Exec/NetBackup
- Experience with backup HW
- Basic experiences in SAN
• Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Management Information Systems or equivalent experience:
• At least 4 years practical experience in Windows200x administration
• Exceptional communications skills, both verbal and written
• Experience in leading and coaching working groups and team meetings in a multi-cultural environment
• Practical experience in Project Management
• Analytical problem-solving and root cause analysis skills
• Team player
• Service oriented behaviour and communication to internal and external contacts
• Fluent in English
Preferred:
• Good understanding of high availability environments, MS cluster knowledge
• Experience in Backup environments and knowledge in HP Dataprotector,
• Microsoft Certified System Engineer
