Adecco Professional Placement is looking for its client, a global leader in design, development and manufacturing of automotive safety-critical components and systems, a Tolerance Analysis Engineer / Design Engineer.
Overall description of the job
* Use VisVSA software to model component/assembly tolerances and assembly processes to predict system variability.
* Works with Product Engineers and Manufacturing to define Geometric Dimensioning &Tolerancing (GD&T) and product specifications to meet customer requirements.
* Help develop the best possible product within given timeframe, focusing on cost, functionality, manufacturability and reliability.
* Perform tolerance analysis on safety restraint systems.
* Identify critical characteristics of assemblies and suggest solutions to optimize component and assembly tolerance.
* Define functional tolerance for safety restraint components using ASME and ISO GD&T standards.
* Performs all relevant tasks within defined project timing and within budget.
* Participates in regular internal and external project meetings.
* Communicates and cooperates with project related departments in the US, Mexico, Italy, Romania and China.
* Create analysis reports.
Required Qualifications, experience and education
* At least one year working experience with Catia V5 (average or advanced user);
* Engineering Degree (Technical College, Technical University, Institute of Technology);
* English (average or advanced);
Preferred Qualifications and experience
* Experience in Variation Analysis;
* Understanding of Geometric Dimensioning &Tolerancing (GD&T);
* Experience with VisVSA and Vis Mockup;
* Understanding of die casted, plastic injection molded, metal stamping, lightweight and mechatronic parts;
* MS-Office;
* German or other additional languages;
* At least one of the following criteria is an advantage:
At least 2 years of experience in the development of safety restraint systems;
At least 3 years of experience working as a technician/engineer in automotive development;
At least 5 years of experience working as a technician/engineer.
* Availability for travel.
