• provides the necessary engineering, supports and coordinates of prototype build to ensure that new assemblies are completed on time and on budget;
• responsible for the Process development/improvement of electronic products in the wave soldering area;
• create new wave profiling for all the new electronic products;
• design wave soldering pallets;
• provides feedback to appropriate Engineering and support groups to ensure smooth transition from prototype to production;
• reviews and interprets customer specifications;
• provides engineering expertise for all technical issues related to the customer’s product(s) from product conception to product obsolescence;
• works closely with customer on the design of new products;
• gathers, understands and converts customer data into usable manufacturing information;
• verifies that specifications conform to customer, industry and company standards;
• assists in selecting and programming manufacturing equipment to build product;
• assists manufacturing with the first run of product;
• helps determine inspection criteria for incoming materials;
• coordinates and performs component selection and qualification;
• acts as the focal point for all product-related technical issues;
• interacts with customers to resolve problems and increase the quality and yield of the product;
• may become involved in providing the necessary Engineering support and coordination of a prototype build to ensure new assemblies are completed on time;
• may lead a work group or project team consisting of one or more support staff and/or tech/professional staff with some coaching from own supervisor, or may provide advice and guidance in area of specialty;
• seeks out new avenues for building internal and external relationships; maintains contacts with existing relationships;
• supports the transition of customer’s products to manufacturing and participates with peers to ensure successful handoffs.
Adecco Permanent Placement is recruiting for one of its clients, a Multinational Company, an NPI Wave Engineer.
The ideal candidate
• bachelor’s Degree in Electronics, Mechanics, Mechatronics or equivalent technical education and experience;
• knowledge and understanding of the design process for systems and printed circuit boards, systems, complex mechanical assemblies and printed circuit board manufacturing processes and equipment;
• knowledge of industry and quality standards;
• knowledge of materials and components used in the construction of systems and printed circuit boards and subassemblies;
• knowledge of material science, robotics, mechatronics;
• knowledge of product pricing;
• excellent customer contact, negotiation and problem resolution skills;
• good presentation, database management and computer skills;
• strong knowledge of statistical process control methods and techniques;
• ability to evaluate, diagnose and troubleshoot problems;
• good organization skills;
• 3 years relevant experience;
• strong English knowledge;
• good knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Power Point, etc.);
• knowledge of industry and quality standards for incoming materials;
• ability to evaluate materials, gather and analyze data and determine root cause of problems;
• ability to manage several projects simultaneously and coordinate multiple, changing deadlines;
• ability to effectively communicate with a variety of internal and external customers;
• knowledge of design for manufacturing is a plus.
