Determine what items are being subcontracted to which suppliers. Maintain a current list of subcontractors and the items with open orders.
Contact all subcontractors and offer assistance in any quality problems related to JLG ideas.
Visit all subcontractors on a routine basis. Visit all new subcontractors prior to their first delivery.
Perform first article inspection at the supplies location whenever possible for all first time orders by new suppliers or first time deliveries of new part numbers by existing suppliers.
Evaluate the supplier's quality system and maintain a record of such, updating the records as changes are made.
Act as the liaison in-house to get information, engineering changes or deviation requests when necessary for subcontractors.
Travel as required up to fifty percent of normal working hours.
Graduate Engineer.
Two years in a metal working environment.
Minimum of two years in a quality control environment.
Requires a strong individual who is able to set priorities and meet goals.
Requires the ability to present you in a professional manner to our suppliers as a representative of JLG Industries.
Requires the ability to make reasonable decisions on quality using available information.
Requires the ability to understand metal working process and analyse deficiencies when they exist.
Ability to read blueprints and/or shop drawings.
