• Provide leadership in the development of team spirit in meeting production targets, waste, and cost parameters
• Ensure Maintenance of equipment and facilities is performed on a timely basis
• Ensure compliance with company procedures
• Ensure compliance with rules and regulations as advised General Director
• Provide training of employees in areas of production output, reduction of waste and machine down time
• Ensure correct inventory of critical machine parts to minimize downtime of equipment
• Ensure compliance with quality control procedures and minimize out of spec production
• Ensure that the daily required data of information submitted to the cost department is correct
• Assist General Director with the preparation of cost estimates of new products
• Participate in monthly production and finance meetings to review progress against budget and production targets
• Developing new product ranges for welded mesh and associated products
• Participate actively in creating & updating the National Standard for steel in Mauritius through committees at Government level and develop export markets for welded mesh
• Qualified civil engineer
• Strong hands on welded mesh industry
• Strong problem solving and creative skills and be able to make proactive decisions
• Strong ability to train and develop plant personnel
• 5 + years experience in a similar position with a leading welding mesh manufacturer
• Excellent communication and Leadership skills
• Management experience with day to day plant operations
• Good command of English both oral and written
• Strong interest in new developments in the welded mesh industry
• High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation
• Knowledge of ERP software
