SENIOR COST ENGINEER

RESPONSABILITATI

Responsible for implementing Management's strategies regarding cost engineering of the FLNG facilities particularly in respect to the Company’s commercial position towards the client, Accuracy, consistency, completeness, cost forecasts, confidentiality of data, Audit ability and traceability of estimates. In addition, responsible for the day-to-day planning, cost control, cost forecasts and cost engineering data management.
Major Duties
The principal duties of the Senior Cost Engineer are to,
-Ensure effective coordination within the Engineering, Procurement and Construction groups, and necessary liaison with the Project team.
-Maintain familiarity with competing technologies and the availability of related services.
-Take a leading role in the cost estimation by assisting the Proposal/Project Manager.
-Develop estimating strategy and plan, analyzing the competitiveness in assigned bid.
-Assist with the selection of new personnel; develop and implement training plans.
-Ensure that uncertainties within an estimate are identified and quantified (where practical, via a simulation program) so that a cost allowance can be established to bring the estimate to the level of confidence required by the ITB or by the project Management.
-Assist the assigned Proposal or Project Manager to evaluate and quantify risks relating to an estimate and to develop a contingency recommendation.
-Conduct a review of each estimate with the managers of those work groups contributing to it to ensure that all Client and Corporate requirements are incorporated with respect to competitiveness, accuracy, confidence, scope and presentation.
-Evaluate and ensure that execution strategies, design and specifications reflect minimum overall cost consistency with project requirements.
-Develop day to day cost planning and forecasting
-Manage the cost engineering data base
-Prepare periodical cost reports
-Enhance the cost engineering technology
Nature and Environment at JGC
- JGC's major business market is in the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) of process plants, including offsite and utility facilities, in such fields as oil refining, petrochemicals, chemicals, and gas processing and treating.
In most projects, engineering activities center in the JGC Yokohama World Operations Center, where engineering groups are organized. JGC also uses its branch offices and subsidiary engineering companies for execution of the project.
