Responsible for the delivery of the Facilities Design and Interface Design aspects for FLNG facilities to the Client’s satisfaction, consistent with the cost, schedule and contractual requirements, applying quality management principles.
Major Duties
The principal duties of the Engineering Manager are to,
- Manage the project team in the execution of the Engineering activities.
- Monitor and assess the quality of work on the project.
- Champion safety by design.
- Direct, plan, organize, guide, and make appropriate reports on the Engineering activities of the project, and maintain communication with personnel,.
- Implement the Engineering Coordination Procedure, Project Plan and Project Execution Strategy.
- Implement successful Engineering Project Execution Strategies and Execution Plans which provide for effective use of company resources.
- Manage engineering resources to achieve the Client objectives.
- Keep informed of progress, deviations from plans, potential problems and both internal or external conditions that may effect project performance.
- Keep the Project Manager informed of the Engineering status including areas of concern / focus.
- Exercise responsible leadership in planning and executing corrective measures when such are necessary.
- Provide general guidance and counsel and assist in solving engineering problems.
- Maintain effective and harmonious client relations.
JGC's major business market is in the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) of process plants, including offsite and utility facilities, in such fields as oil refining, petrochemicals, chemicals, and gas processing and treating.
In most projects, engineering activities center in the JGC Yokohama World Operations Center, where engineering groups are organized. JGC also uses its branch offices and subsidiary engineering companies for execution of the project.
