Assist the Senior Cost Engineer in providing an estimating service for assigned projects and proposals, following the guidelines in supervising estimator preparers’ cost estimates.
Major Duties
The principal duties if the Cost Engineer are to,
-Perform work which involves standard estimating practices on specific and limited portions of an assignment
Assignments can include the following:
- Development of estimation methodology and procedures
- Checking of relevant documents for conformity with estimate plan.
- Planning work schedules, expediting of costs and quantities and presenting them for review to the team, project staff and Company management.
- Analysis of uncertainty and risk, and making recommendations of contingency amounts.
- Maintaining details of estimates with cost and quantities, including all changes during contract negotiations.
- On contract award following proposal, preparation of Interim control estimate with project requirements.
-Develop estimated costs to reflect the minimum overall cost consistent with project requirements.
-Develop day to day cost planning and forecasting
-Develop a cost engineering data base
-Prepare periodical cost reports
Nature and Environment at JGC
- JGC's major business market is in the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) of process plants, including offsite and utility facilities, in such fields as oil refining, petrochemicals, chemicals, and gas processing and treating.
In most projects, engineering activities center in the JGC Yokohama World Operations Center, where engineering groups are organized. JGC also uses its branch offices and subsidiary engineering companies for execution of the project.

-Work experience of more than 8 years in cost estimation and cost control for
Onshore/Offshore Oil & Gas facilities.
-Experience in Gas FPSO, LPG FPSO is desirable.
