The Concept Design Engineer is responsible for developing a conceptual design flow scheme for an Offshore plant in response to duty specification given by a client.
As a senior engineering representative on a Conceptual Design Study, the Concept Design Engineer shall propose a base case with several options with process flow scheme, budgetary estimated CAPPEX / OPEX cost and recommendations.
The Concept Design Engineer must ensure that the proposed Process & Utility design is safe, conforms to agreed codes and practices and ensure that the study is carried out with appropriate consideration given to requirements of the Hull and SURF and other offshore associated equipment, as efficiently as possible.
Major Duties
The technical and commercial direction, control, co-ordination and execution of the conceptual design study.
The planning and preparation of the study activities including the man-hour budgets, work schedules, manpower loadings and staffing incorporating skill and experience to study requirements.
The co-ordination and preparation of input into the study by confirmation and clarification of duty specifications given by the Client.
Liaison and co-ordination with other discipline groups on the study to effect timely production of deliverables and reports.
The co-ordination and preparation of input from/to Hull, SURF, Wellhead Platform and associated equipments for the related study.
The review of key drawings, specifications, requisitions, study reports and design calculations prepared by the discipline and ensuring that all documents conform to the engineering quality and completeness required on the study, and are reviewed / checked in accordance with relevant procedures.
Co-ordination, review of and expediting of externally and internally prepared inter-discipline check points, specifications and vendor information for design and the maintenance of technical records of such documents.
The initiation and review of all proposed changes to the man-hours, schedules and scope of work to be included in the variation system.
The preparation of progress and status reports and material for meetings with the Client, other outside companies working on the study as required.
Identification and provision of all documents required for Technical Audits and Corporate review and attendance at formal Design and Safety Audit meetings.
The maintenance of technical and commercial records.

Nature and Environment at JGC

-Background and experience in project engineering including Oil and Gas handling of Offshore plant.
-Process engineering experience including oil and gas handling, LPG recovery and/or LNG plant
-Educated to degree/diploma level.
-Ability to resolve problems expeditiously to minimize delays, lead a team and ensure project objectives are met by creating a conducive working environment.
-Must be pro-active and possess good inter-personal skills and be a team motivator.
-Working experience of more than 15 years in design, Engineering on onshore/offshore Oil Gas facilities.
-Experience in Gas FPSO, LPG FPSO is desirable.
