Skills/Qualifications:
- Installation, administration and troubleshooting of Linux servers (especially Fedora/ Red Hat distributions), using command line and GUI
- Configuration, administration and troubleshooting of TCP/ IP network services under Linux, such as bind, sendmail/ postfix, Apache, dhcpd, squid, routing and iptables, samba
- Installation, administration and troubleshooting of MySQL relational databases
- General understanding of physical network equipment including cabling, patch panels, switches, and NICs
- Knowledge of TCP/ IP protocols, routing, LAN and WAN network topologies, VPN technologies
- Installation, configuration and troubleshooting of network equipment (switches, routers, firewalls), especially Allied Telesis and Juniper equipment
- Good English speaking (Italian is a plus)
- Excellent troubleshooting skills
- Willing to learn, watchful to details
- Calm, stable person, able to work in a team
Nice to have:
- Degree in computer engineering
- Administration of common network services under Windows, such as DNS, DHCP, WINS, ISA & proxy server, printer configuration; experience in managing and troubleshooting mixed Windows-Linux environments.
We have an immediate need for a talented Linux administrator with networking/VoIP experience willing to work in a mixed Windows-Linux team.
Very good knowledge of Linux and MySQL is a must; expertise in LAN/ WAN networks and/or VOIP technologies is a strong plus.
