Fast growing IT company located in Iasi is searching for a Financial Controller with tasks encompassing the company and its subsidiaries. The role will be part of the company management team and reports to the Romanian counsel of the group management located in Bucharest. Significant attention will be given to developing the processes and infrastructure/ systems needed to support substantial growth over the short and medium term. The Financial Controller will manage the administrative, business planning, accounting and reporting, and control and governance of the company and its subsidiaries. It is envisaged that as the company grows the position will grow with the role and the person will also take responsibility of supporting the business in all commercial matters.
Scope of duties:
- Responsible for co-ordinating the finance- and admin function and its structures with both in-house and outsourced providers.
- Responsible for all reporting including monthly management information to the management team and its shareholders, statutory accounting and all tax matters.
- Setting up a control & governance processes / structures in the company and in its subsidiaries.
- Responsible for short and long term budgeting and cash flow forecasting.
- Supporting interactions with banks in regards to financing (process is led by the shareholders).
- Provide finance support to all business development activities and project investment decisions.
Requirements:
The successful candidate:
- will be a self-starter and a “doer” who is able to work independently and can cope with both complex financial matters and miscellaneous administration tasks in a business with aggressive growth targets.
- will be an analytical, very accurate and detailed, self-motivated person that possesses a high level of communication skills and performs well under pressure.
- will have to hold a University degree in finance, accounting or business administration and will have previous experience as a controller or similar duties in an international company.
- accounting knowledge of Romanian / International accounting standards is required as well as an understanding of control methodology and how a finance function operates.
- more than 5 years’ experience in a finance function gained from either an in-house finance department and/or an international reputable audit firm.
- experience in dealing with international companies operating in Romania is needed.
- experience from the energy or other capital intensive businesses is meriting.
- excellent excel knowledge and fluency in written and spoken English and Romanian will be assumed.
Compensation will be market based and with a performance bonus. Location of the business is in Iasi but travels to Bucharest will be required recurrently. We are looking to fill the position immediately.
