For an Interstate Gas Pipeline Project, we are seeking an experienced Project Engineer for Greece, responsible for providing project overview, ensuring organizational effectiveness and consistent timely delivery by planning and coordinating a complex range of parallel activities during development, construction, preoperations and operation.
Operational excellence: support the country manager by coordinating and monitoring implementation of pre-construction / construction activities together with Company’s resource centres in Switzerland and local and international 3rd party consultants and service providers in Greece. Primary activity areas include, but is not limited to:
- Technical coordination: act as the primary local interface to Company’s project development / technical department: advising and implementing technical solutions in coordination with technical resource centres and external / governmental bodies.
- Land Easement / Acquisition (LEA): coordinate activities / scheduling / KPIs with local consultants, international engineering contractors and local engagement.
- Financial: liaise with finance department to plan, track and regularly report on budgeting and financial position.
- Providing leadership and driving performance internally and externally while maintaining morale in a small and rapidly growing organization.
- Recognized degree of any Technical accredited University
- Minimum of 10 years experience from the energy sector, ideally gas
- Minimum of 5 years of project management experience from strategic planning to hand-on implementation and execution gained from international oil and gas projects.
- International business experience, most likely from a northern Europe/Anglo-American culture. Equally, candidate will demonstrate insights into the specifics of Greek/Mediterranean culture.
- Experience in Land Easement Acquisition
- Basic knowledge of financial and accounting principles and practices
- Natural authority with assertiveness and excellent people skills
- Excellent planner with attention to details and a proactive mindset
- Critical thinking and problem solving skills
- Fluent in English and Greek (both written and spoken)
- Well versed with project management tools and processes (incl. Gantt, project scheduling and KPI management)
- Proficient user of MS Office
