The Datacenter Administrator provides day-to-day support for the datacenter servers, software, and supporting infrastructure.
- Maintains a secure, clean and manageable datacenter environment.
- Maintains accurate system inventory, labeling, and system specific documentation.
- Monitors datacenter environmental factors, such as cooling and humidity; takes appropriate action to remedy the situation.
-Monitors the stability and uptime of datacenter systems and software via logs and other reporting mechanisms; takes appropriate action to initiate repairs
-Maintains accurate and verified tape backups of all datacenter systems
- Performs upgrades to existing and deployment of new systems, such as servers, storage arrays, equipment racks, power distribution, and required cabling
- Assists in maintaining the campus Active Directory environment
- university degree
- minimum 2 years experience in IT environment
-ability to identify and resolve computer system malfunctions and operational problems
- knowledge about Microsoft Operating systems
- knowledge about Exchange 2003
- knowledge about Microsoft Active Directory design / implementation and support
- knowledge of all aspects of network services facilities
- knowledge of current technological development / trends
