- The SA is responsible for providing technical support and maintenance for all servers and systems in the designated site and implementing systems security and policies.
- Responsible for supporting all facets of server administration (logins, passwords etc) backups and restoreses
- Provide general system administration support for the VMWare ESX virtual servers including diagnosis, optimization, documentation, security.
- Provide general system administration support, including diagnosis, optimization, documentation, security for Physical and Virtual Windows2003/Windows2008 servers
- Provide, maintain and manage all system storage, backups and restoration of system files, file systems, directories
- Monitor storage and backup systems for efficiency and utilization.
- Responsible for supporting all facets of server administration (logins, passwords etc) backups and restoreses
- Provide end-user support as the backup of the Desktop Administrator
- Provide on-call support on a periodic basis
- Work with external suppliers and contractors.
- Work with Internal IT Teams (EMEA Enterprise System Engineering Team, Network Team, Telephony Team).
Knowledge and Experience required:
- Degree in Computer Science or IT related field preferred.
- Strong Problem Solving and Analytical skills
- Minimum 3 years working in a hands-on IT Support role
- Good understanding of Microsoft Windows server operating systems (2003, 2008).
- Good understanding of Microsoft Active Directory and associated technologies.
- Experience of troubleshooting operating systems
- Good understanding of virtualisation technologies, preferably VMWare.
- Good problem-solving skills with ability to logically assess and decompose a problem.
- Good communication skills, ability to listen, understand and present clear solutions to problems at a level appropriate to the customer’s knowledge and experience
- Understanding of task prioritisation management.
Desire
- Previous experience in a data centre environment would be beneficial.
- Any Microsoft certification
- VMware certification
