RESPONSABILITATI

• Work in the Network Operations Centre on a 24x7 shift rota basis.
• Conduct network surveillance and proactively initialise fault resolution and priority.
• Carry out first level fault diagnostics across the Interoute Voice & IP network
• Conduct preventative maintenance and analyses of circuit performance
• Open trouble tickets from network alarms or external fault reports
• Track trouble tickets assigned to the NOC
• Escalating trouble tickets, both technical and to management
• Carry out vendor and supplier contact and escalation for fault resolution.
• Co-ordinate field operatives across Pan European Network
• Support Local Ops with Diagnostics and maintenance
• Responsible for escalation of unresolved Voice/IP customer or network faults to 2nd or 3rd Line Support as required.
• Liaise with customer representatives to obtain fault resolution.

SPECIFIC QUALIFICATIONS
• Studying for Cisco Qualification or already in possession ( i.e. CCNA/P.) would be advantageous

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
• Experienced user of Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience of NOC shift patterns
• Good basic fault finding techniques
• Experienced user of all Voice technologies
• Experienced user of IP tools such as telnet, ping, trace route and TFTP

KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED
• Minimum 4 years experience in Telecommunications with at least 2 years Voice/IP in an operations position
• Competent in the use of Voice/IP management tools such as InfoVista, Netcool or SMARTS.
• Conversant with telecommunications operational processes and procedures
• General technical understanding of Voice,IP, SDH transmission and DWDM services
• Knowledge of TDM, VOIP,IP
• Familiarity with the following protocols SS7, SIP, H323, Q931, BGP, OSPF,
• Experience on Sonus and/or NexTone equipment would be advantageous
• Experience with the Cisco portfolio of equipment would be advantageous
