Under the direction of the Chair, the Professor is responsible for providing academic leadership in the development and delivery of curriculum to Students in a fostering and effective learning environment.
The professor must meet relevant professional standards at local, provincial and national levels.
MAJOR ELEMENTS OF THE POSITION:
- Instruction and development of assigned courses, objectives and outcomes
- Providing academic leadership, fostering an effective learning environment and upholding all professional, provincial, and national standards
- Utilizing innovative teaching techniques to facilitate the learning process
- Evaluating student progress and achievement, while providing student advisement and remedial assistance
- Planning, developing, implementing and evaluating curriculum for the inclusion of existing and new programs
- Liaising with clinical placement sites, staff and students
- Participating in internal and external committees, teams and projects
- a relevant degree from an accredited institution
- a relevant professional diploma
- minimum of three years experience in the field of Chiropody
- previous teaching experience with knowledge in evaluative techniques
- skill in various teaching approaches and innovations
- current registration with the COCOO and membership with OSC and CFPM
- strong organizational and leadership skills
- excellent verbal and written communication skills
- an ability to work independently and as part of a team
