Adobe is looking for a Software Engineer with strong experience in development of web applications of medium/high complexity to join the Rich Media Solutions team. You will contribute to the process of shaping and deciding tomorrow's technologies and solutions that make it easy to deliver, measure and protect video content online using the Flash Platform. You will contribute to projects like Open Source Media Framework (for delivering high-quality, full-featured playback experiences) and will work with Adobe’s well-known technologies like Flash Media Server (for media streaming) and Flash Access (for content protection) used to power premium web video players such as newly launched ESPN3.com or Time Warner’s TV-Everywhere initiative.
Responsibilities:
* transform the requirements into feature specifications
* contribute to the design and implementation of new features
* design and implement new features, APIs, unit test suites
* work closely with Quality Engineers, to ensure that the product meets the required top quality standards
* interact with product management, team leads and customers to refine feature requirements
* be part of an agile, highly collaborative and passionate team working on new products development
* research on various technologies useful for the project and keep in touch with the evolution of the video distribution market
* enhance your technical and team working skills
For this job we are searching for people with:
* 3+ years of web application development: both client side and server side experience is required. Thorough understanding of the processes/flows that happen “behind-the-scenes” between the client and server sides of a web application. Knowledgeable about internet standards.
* Knowledge of client side technologies like JavaScript/jQuery, HTML, Ajax
* Experience in developing RIA applications using Flash is a big plus
* Good knowledge of at least one server-side language (C#, Java, PHP, Ruby, Python etc).
* Experience with server side frameworks like Zend (PHP), Django (Python), .NET, Ruby-On-Rails (Ruby)
* Implemented or used web services or consumed standard "web APIs" (e.g. Google, Facebook, etc)
* Strong CS background, very strong algorithm and logical skills
* Ability to research and become proficient in new technologies, and willing to learn
* Adobe technologies - Flash Platform (ActionScript, Flash, AIR)
* Passionate about computer science, developing software & internet applications
* Committed to the highest levels of quality; demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Good English language knowledge, written and spoken
The following skills will be considered a plus:
* Experience with skinning web pages using HTML/CSS technologies
* Working with Adobe tools: FlashPro (animations), FlashBuilder (AS3)
* Experience with mobile applications development. -Native applications (e.g. Android smart-phones or tablets, iDevices) -Web applications (customize/adapt existing web applications to be consumed on mobile)
* Integrating video playback feature in web applications (e.g. using Flash or HTML5)
