Through immersive interactivity and actionable analytics, Adobe® Digital Publishing Suite can engage readers and pinpoint content performance across devices -‐ including Apple iPad and Android™ tablets. Digital Publishing Suite in combination with InDesign CS5 provides hosted services, viewer technology and tools to create, deliver, monetize, and optimize digital publications.
The Digital Publishing Services team in Adobe Romania builds hosted and deployable scalable web services designed to support top publishers to serve DRM-‐enabled content such as e-‐books and e-‐ magazines on readers, tablets and smartphones. Our Viewer Builder technology allows publishers to cost-‐effectively author, produce, and distribute groundbreaking content to the broadest possible audience on a wide variety of digital devices. With this solution, Adobe is helping publishers and advertisers revolutionize how they create and deliver digital content, and how their audiences consume it.
As a Software Developer for the Viewer Builder technology, you will work with a team of talented software developers and quality engineers within the Adobe Digital Publishing team. You have to be knowledgeable of Flex/AIR client applications and REST web services.
With Viewer Builder, you will be responsible for taking specific product features through entire life cycle, from requirement analysis to delivery, meeting the reliability, performance and quality targets required in our company.
Responsibilities:
* Work in an agile team to build Viewer Builder as a flexible client application connected to the Digital Publishing Services infrastructure and own multiple features of the product
* Transform requirements into architectural and feature specs, contribute with valuable ideas to the service architecture
* Develop clean, compact and efficient code that is part of a solution used by many hundreds of the world’s major publishing companies.
* Collaborate with product managers, quality engineers, user experience designers and localization teams to create a high-‐quality, polished and professional product that meets the needs of publishers
* Perform research on various technologies useful for the project
* Provide status and feedback to management
* Strong Computer Science background and 5+ years of relevant industry experience
* Object oriented design principles and design patterns, strong algorithmic and logical skills
* Solid foundation in software engineering process & best practices (unit testing, build automation,
* continuous integration)
* Exposure to ActionScript, Flash/Flex/AIR and Java along with a solid understanding of web
* technologies (HTTP, XML, Servlets, JavaScript, AJAX, HTML5/CSS3)
* Understanding of tablet and mobile development, experience on a range of platforms is helpful (iOS, Android, QNX or similar)
* Excellent exploratory, debugging and problem solving skills
* Enthusiastic, creative and have the desire to innovate
* Passionate about computer science, developing software and internet applications
* Enjoys technical challenges and is capable of proposing and evaluating a solution against
* requirements, demonstrates strong customer focus
* Committed to the highest levels of quality, demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness
* Good written and verbal communication skills
* Spoken and written English proficiency
