Support AIX 5.2 Cluster and assist in supporting other UNIX operating systems including SUN, Linux.
Responsibilities:
-Monitor, trouble shoot, support and fix operating system and hardware problems on several versions of AIX systems
-Aid in the installation or consolidation of applications, developing system administration scripts, planning version release upgrades and patches, Security administration and supporting the development of processes and policies surrounding server administration.
-Assist in performance tuning of the servers, routine backups of system and applications on the servers and the establishment of system recovery procedures.
-Perform the documentation of standards, policies and system information
-Technical University graduate
-Minimum 3 years of experience with HACMP cluster configuration and maintenance v5.2 or higher
-Strong experience and knowledge in AIX 5.2 and higher
-Korn Shell Scripting experience
One or more of the following skills are an advantage:
-Experience & hands-on knowledge of various IBM P-series hardware
-Experience & hands-on knowledge on trouble shooting AIX 5.2 OS and higher
-Hands-on knowledge (L1 support) on Solaris 10 & HP-UNIX
-Hands-on knowledge GPFS
-Expert & hands-on knowledge of HACMP clustering, troubleshooting HACMP clustering
-Skilled knowledge in LVM, LPAR, VPAR
-Skilled knowledge on AIX NIM for unattended server install
-Good exposure to SMIT,TCB (Trusted computing base), workload manager, RMC (Resource monitoring and control)
-Good exposure to AIX network administration ( DNS,NIS,LDAP)
-Proficient in Business English
-Comprehensive troubleshooting skills
-Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
-Significant project management experience and leadership skills
-Experience in developing and maintaining effective relationships with customers/vendors.
-Ability to perform work independently, with little or no supervision
-Energetic and self motivated
-Problem solving skills and self disciplined
-Adaptable in a multinational environment and management style
-Effective time management and prioritizing skills.
