This job must ensure system availability and reliability, and provide support to developers in the use of database and related software.The duties of this job include ensuring proper use and administration of database and related software on various hardware platforms:
-The individual will participate in the evaluation and testing of new database products and provide 24/7 on-call support on a rotating basis;
-The individual will maintain optimum software performance and security via proper DBMS configuration and application testing of software patches.
-Database administration knowledge and skills including routine backup and recovery of databases,disaster recovery planning, data replication, physical database design, performance monitoring and tuning, DTS/SSIS package creation, VB/C# scripting, efficient T-SQL coding;
-This job will be filled as a level 1 or level 2, depending upon the successful candidate's education and experience;
-Microsoft Certification is a plus.
