Installs and maintains the operating system and related software products
Develops and implements operational management processes and procedures
Works with security management systems, and backup/restore systems
Provides action plan for resolution of any/all faults detected.
Performs isolation testing of problem equipment and or software
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or associated discipline or equivalent work experience
- minimum 3 years of experience in Systems Administration of Linux / Unix / Windows systems
- Experience with VMware virtualization products including but not limited to ESX, vSphere, and vMotion
- Thorough knowledge of good server and system administration principles
- Functional knowledge of core protocols such as TCP/IP, SSH, SMTP, LDAP, NFS and DNS
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills. Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex system problems.
- Experience in implementing / developing security policies and technical documentation
- Knowledge and experience with shell scripting (ksh, bourne, bash, csh, etc)
- System administration certification (MCSA / RHCSA / …) is a must
- CEH, CISSP or CISM is a plus but optional (or other security related certifications)
