Role purpose:
    To lead the scrum development team and ensure that operation is continuously improved through the application of relevant tools and working practices
    To implement and maintain the Agile manifesto, which includes the operation of the key rituals of the scrum methodology
    To own the delivery plan and the estimates that underpin it
    To provide coaching to the Speedboat organisation, in conjunction with the Product Owner.
 Key accountabilities:
    Ensuring project delivery
    Definition and estimation of sprint scopes
    Operating efficiently the scrum rituals including:
    Session planning
    Daily stand-up
    Sprint review, show and tell
    Managing sprint retrospective meetings
    Ensuring documentation is maintained on development Wiki
    Ensure development complies to development standards
    Communication with business customers
    On-going development of your teams’ skills
    Team performance management
Ideal experience:
    You must have at least five years leading a Java and web service based portal development team
    Experience as a Scrum Master is an advantage
    You will have a proven track record of progressive thinking and continuous improvement and coaching
    You will need to have worked in a fixed-line telecoms environment and ideally a managed services (and/or solutions) business
 
Skills & knowledge required:
    Very good written and verbal English
    A second European language would be an advantage
    Essential: You will mentor the team and engage with a very technical business therefore you must be skilled in the full gamut of development practices and delivery activities:
    Backend development – Java, Ruby, Spring, Hibernate
    Front end – Html, CSS, JavaScript
    Automated testing – Ruby/Cucumber
    Continuous Integration and Deployment
    Knowledge within the following areas is essential:
    Web application architecture
    Application design
    Integration design
    UML
    RDBMS design
    Test driven development
    User story definition and analysis
    You will also need to have knowledge of working on shared infrastructure platform services and managed services

Administrative details:
Working schedule: Monday-Friday, from 09:00 to 17:30, with 30 minutes lunch break.
Travel: the successful candidate is required to travel to London for the project hand-over and participate at initial training sessions during an approximate period of 1 month.
Contractual period: Full-time employment, during an indefinite period.
