General Responsibility:
The Project Manager is responsible for the preparation and implementation of the project in a timely and cost-efficient manner.
He/she may manage multiple projects, depending on their complexity, and
may supervise project officers. The Project Manager proposes the project team, and handles day-to-day relations with clients, donors, beneficiaries, and outside partners.
Reporting to the Country Office Representative, the Project Manager has the following main responsibilities:
- Preparation and implementation of the REC Head Office and Country
Office projects, in various environmental fields, according to her/ his qualification;
- Identification of new project opportunities to respond to local and regional environmental conditions especially related to EU funding.
- Establishment and maintaining of positive relations with project partners - NGOs, governmental institutions, consultancy companies, etc
and key donor organizations.
Requirements- experience and skills:
- At least five years of experience in an environmental sciences and
management area, with preference given to: renewable energy, nature conservation, waste management, air quality, sustainable agriculture etc
- Working experience with governmental institutions and donors of at least 2 years is preferred
- Solid organizational and project management skills, including budgeting
- Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment and be a team player
- Very good written and oral communication skills.
- Experience in EU institutions, programs and policies and accession
process
- Excellent knowledge of English language
Education: University degree in a relevant field. Advanced degree preferred.
