The SharePoint Specialist is responsible for a variety of roles ranging from analysis to technical assistance and helpdesk. The primary role is to serve on project development teams, providing technical solutions, tool/software alternatives and capabilities, design specifications, and recommendations related to technical issues. Frequently, the position may mentor other team members and client personnel.
Qualified candidates should have experience and/or knowledge of the following:
- Capable of performing and proposing SharePoint WSS and MOSS administration and design duties using best industry practices
- Analyzes and understands the customer's needs and provides technical and functional support so that the system should be used at its best
- Ability to document SharePoint application business requirements and provide project scope and effort estimations
- Ability to customize SharePoint applications, templates, layouts, workflows, and web parts
- Explains to the users the system's processes and the impact of their actions within an integrated system, providing them with a global vision of the system
- Tests and follows up the projects and their migration towards other production environments
- Supplies support along the projects and makes analysis for the application belonging to his division
- Informs team members about the decisions that can have an impact upon their projects
- Previous work experience of at least one-two years on a similar position within an international based IT department
- Strong knowledge on Microsoft Office SharePoint 2007 and SharePoint 2010;
- Basic knowledge on Microsoft Office SharePoint Designer;
- Previous experience in IT projects is considered a plus (examples, responsibilities, accomplishments);
- Knowledge on other collaboration suites (MediaWiki, Confluence) as well as on categorization tools (Google enterprise, Sharepoint Term Store) represents a major advantage
- PC skills: Knowledge on Office package (Visio, InfoPath and Project included) – average level; SQL – average level; data bases – average knowledge;
- Experience on developing web applications is an advantage;
- Very good English skills;
- Knowledge of French would be a plus;
