- Administration and maintenance of all Linux/Unix servers and application such as MySQL, Apache, Smartfox, etc.
- Optimize performance of network and servers
- Administration, maintenance, diagnose and troubleshoot of all WAN/LAN technologies
- Ensure the most cost-effective and efficient use of servers
- Provide server system management functions, including system monitoring, analysis, auditing, and upgrades
- Document network problems and resolutions for future reference.
- Maintain strong security which does not unduly impede computing activities.
- Implement and supervise computer and network security policies and procedures, monitor for IT resource abuse
- Maintain documentation regarding network configuration, operating and troubleshooting procedures, and service records relating to network hardware and software
- Monitor communication systems and equipment, such as communication lines. Perform network usage
control, monitor overall and individual data traffic, preparation of reports
- Manage backup and restore
- Monitoring and troubleshooting of network, servers, services, and ensure the availability of these resources
- Interact with other companies for external connections outside as well as other subsidiaries to ensure the proper functioning of the global network
- Graduate in Computer Information Systems, Programming or a related field
- Minimum 2 years of experience as Unix system administrator in large web environments
- Minimum 2 years of experience in IT
- Specialist in one of the following technologies :
- RedHat/Desbian
- MySQL
-Apache/nginx/lighthttpd
- LAMP trouble shooting
- Unix scripting
- VMWare
- Solid knowledge of application software and the skills and ability to apply them to perform the essential duties and responsibilities of the position.
- Very good written and spoken English, French is a plus
