- Install, maintain and monitor multiple servers and the applications running on the servers. This includes the operating system (Linux), hardware, and application installation, monitoring and backups.
- Responsible for the complete process of infrastructure design and operations, including systems analysis and maintenance, security, network operations and support, and systems configuration.
- Provide general MySQL database administration support for production and internal databases, including troubleshooting.
- Performs periodic network scans, solves discovered vulnerabilities, reports results, proposes security improvements.
- Tune operating system and hardware for optimal performance.
- Develop scripts for automating routine tasks.
- Monitor servers and applications for errors and performance problems. Responsible for escalation of the problems to the appropriate persons.
- Develops long-term strategy for historical data retention and archival plan for storage needs; defines data retention, backup, and recovery.
- Develops, packages and automates distribution of installation executable software and related software on target machines.
- Monitors and resolves any problems that may arise from the distribution or installation.
- Manages firewalls, sets security restrictions, reports issues and propose security improvements.
- Manages Email Systems, configures, administers and monitors email servers, creates backup procedures for email, ensure email delivery.
- Administer various IT solutions, creates proper documentation and disaster recovery plans.
- Keeps up to date the antivirus server and clients, defines and monitors periodic scans, creates periodic reports.
- Responsible for monitoring, follow-up, solving and escalation of the internal technical trouble tickets according with the existing procedures.
- Administer application servers, creates backups, restore backups if necessary, troubleshoots incidents.
- Ensures that operations and equipment are in compliance with applicable policies, procedures and rules.
- At least 2 years’ experience in a similar position.
- Advanced networking protocols knowledge.
- Advanced skills for securing and managing network infrastructures.
- Red Hat Linux administration and services.
- Proficiency with shell scripting.
- Advanced PHP/Perl skills.
- Experience with databases such as MySQL.
- Windows operating systems (Server, Professional, etc.).
- General knowledge of hardware installation and troubleshooting.
- Email protocols (SMTP, POP, IMAP).
- Project management and team leadership skills are a plus.
- Organized, detailed oriented, pro-active and team minded.
