Responsibilities:
- Operate multiple layers of our IT infrastructure such as hardware, operating systems, network, storage in a 24/7 environment;
- Identify and apply solutions for the different challenges related to the systems administration;
- Participate in the technological analysis related to the infrastructure operational and internal tools;
- Install, maintain and monitor multiple servers and the applications running on the servers;
- Responsible for the complete process of infrastructure design and operations, including systems analysis and maintenance, security, network operations and support, and systems configuration;
- Provide general MySQL database administration support for production and internal databases, including troubleshooting and optimization;
- Perform periodic network scans, solves discovered vulnerabilities, reports results, proposes security improvements;
- Tune operating system and hardware for optimal performance;
- Develop scripts for automating routine tasks;
- Monitor servers and applications for errors and performance problems. Responsible for solving or escalation of the problems to the appropriate persons;
- Develops long-term strategy for historical data retention and archival plan for storage needs; defines data retention, backup, and recovery;
- Manages firewalls, sets security restrictions, reports issues and propose security improvements.
Requirements:
- At least 2 years experience in a similar position;
- A solid understanding of networking and core Internet protocols (e.g. TCP/IP, DNS, SMTP, HTTP, and distributed networks);
- Skills for securing and managing network infrastructures;
- You must be comfortable on Linux/UNIX systems (RHEL/CentOS);
- Familiar with cloud infrastructure providers;
- Proficiency with shell scripting;
- PHP/Perl basic knowledge;
- Experience with MySQL database;
- General knowledge of hardware installation and troubleshooting;
- Project management and team leadership skills are a plus;
- Organized, detailed oriented, pro-active and team minded;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
