Linux System Administrator
in our Bucharest-based Linux System Development team.
What would you do?
You will….
…build, maintain and enhance Linux images for internal users
...define and automate the process of Linux image deployment, configuration, security update, system and application upgrade
…research options for implementing centralized administration/overview of Linux workstations
…research, prototype, test and provide solutions by which the Linux-based users can have access to the same range of services as the Windows-based users
…keep posted with latest developments in Linux Desktop world and be prepared to make educated recommendations for using them
…research / enhance open-source tools, as needed
And, most of all, you will be a part of our young and dynamic team
…good understanding of Linux and Windows operating systems architecture and internals
...active interest in Linux Desktop evolution
…at least 2-3 years experience with installing, configuring and administrating Linux distributions, particularly Ubuntu, preferably in a business environment
…strong scripting skills, in at least two of the following languages: Bash, Python, Perl
…solid understanding of TCP/IP networking concepts
...good knowledge of local and remote authentication methods, protocols and available tools
...good knowledge of security-related practices in a Linux environment
...experience with open-source configuration management software such as Bcfg2, Cfengine, Puppet, etc
...experience with finding, determining compatibility and installing Linux drivers for different hardware configurations and auxiliary equipment
…some knowledge of Microsoft services such as Exchange, Sharepoint, Active Directory and of compatible Linux clients
…knowledge of C, C++ or Java programming languages
…knowledge of Qt
…experience with relational databases (MySQL)
…knowledge of German language
