- Design, implementation, and operation of LAN/WAN connectivity, LAN/Server security and server based application administration
- Perform ongoing system and network monitoring, system maintenance, troubleshooting & support, security, backups & documentation
- Create and review IT Policy and Procedures
- Provide occasional desktop support
- Sets up, configures, and supports internal and/or external networks
- Troubleshoots network performance issues and creates and maintains a disaster recovery plan
- Provides technical support and guidance to the system users
- Performs advanced troubleshooting on complex PC and LAN/WAN hardware and software problems, and recommends action based upon findings
- Performs daily network maintenance, such as: adding and deleting network users, maintaining user groups and print queues, monitoring disk usage, and performing tape backups, check for security breaches, check for SO updates etc.
- Identify, research, and resolve technical problems
- Provide helpdesk support to employees; trouble shooting problems with the network, PCs and printers
- Perform backups - Inventory control and logging
- Install and configure various software packages under guidance from the corporate office (e.g. SQL, Anti-Virus, remote Control programs)
- Rollout and maintain routers and switches on our data network.
- Monitor and maintain data/phone lines.
- Setup and monitor Internet and VPN connectivity with remote offices
- Phone system support
- Also deal with local vendors regarding issues.
- To assist end-users in all IT applications and equipment related issues;
- To ensure, as part of the IT team, Availability of core IT services (Network, File Servers, Printing, Messaging, Backup & Restore);
- To provide full end-user support in using customized specific IT applications.
- University degree in Computer Science or a related discipline;
- Minimum 2 years of experience in LAN/WAN administration and/or network security, ISI, firewalls, viruses, internet accesses;
- Good written and spoken English.
Advantage:
- Experience configuring and maintaining Exchange 2000/2003 is a plus
- Experience administering Microsoft SQL or Oracle is a plus
- Experience administering Unix environments is a plus.
