Planning and administration of the IT Infrastructure in order to fulfil highest requirements towards reliability, availability and performance of the IT and tool environment.
• Strategic planning and design of our IT environment (incl. network) and tool chain, incl. the design of an appropriate budget in co-operation with our IT service provider.
• Technical interfacing, incl. the definition of requirements towards our IT service provider.
• Set-up and maintenance of standard SW packages for PCs and servers (incl. SW licence management).
• Administration (mainly Unix) and putting into operation of R&D servers and R&D internal networks not being under control of our IT service provider.
The IT Infrastructure and Unix Administrator will work in close operation with our IT Service provider in Austria and with other IT administrators within the Thales community. S(h)e will be part of our R&D Central Functions team.
Education:
• Computer science graduates (Automatics and Computers Faculty, Informatics)
Preferred Project experience:
• Administration of IT environment (incl. network)
• Unix administration
Programming languages:
• Basic knowledge in script languages (e.g. shell)
Preferred tools and methods:
• PC/server hardware (incl. backup)
• network communication, network architecture, communication protocols, network management platforms (TCP, UDP, IP, DNS, SMTP, SNMP, NTP etc.)
• Unix administration (user and server administration)
• Basic knowledge in LAN security, firewalls and routing
• Basic knowledge of SW tool chain / environment management
• ClearCase is a plus
