Summary of Position:
Overall responsibility for effectively supervising Interactive Response Technology (IRT) development teams in the Clarix Development Group. Work with the management team to oversee design, recommendation, and implementation of IRT software solutions for Phase Forward customers.
Responsibilities:
The responsibilities of this individual will include, but not be limited to the following:
- Work with the Lead Project Developer to ensure on time delivery and appropriately manage risk for all new projects assigned to the software development team along with providing ongoing risk management and oversight for systems currently in the maintenance phase.
- Supervise teams of internal & external resources – overseeing work and staff members on project development teams.
- Manage and provide mentorship and training to new hires and other team members on an ongoing basis, while conducting periodic performance reviews.
- Identify and implement process improvements in the delivery and maintenance of IRT systems
- Work with Human Resources to develop training curriculum, materials and best practices guides.
- Participate in the recruiting and hiring process for functional area
- Design and manage internal repositories for subject matter knowledge
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Education and Experience Required:
- B.S/B.A. in Computer Science or equivalent
- Object-oriented programming and database skills
- Experience with the Software Development Life Cycle
- Track record of success in designing and delivering full life-cycle software/systems projects.
- Candidate will have excellent facilitator, teamwork, and management skills along with excellent diplomacy and professionalism.
- Must be comfortable interfacing with all levels of clients and business partners (internal and external).
- Strong interpersonal, communication skills (written/verbal), presentation and negotiation skills.
- Strong organizational skills, with a track record of managing and prioritizing multiple tasks/project deliverables effectively.
- Knowledge of clinical trials process a plus
Position Technical Requirements:
- Object oriented design and development experience
- Experience with advanced technologies such as C#, .Net 2.0+, Microsoft SQL Server 2005, VXML, and other third party software products
- Experience with major databases (Oracle preferred)
- Experience building internet-based enterprise/commercial applications
- Source control experience
