Roles and Responsibilities
The Geotechnical Engineer is required to assist and support the Lead Geotechnical Engineer with geotechnical input to the project. Specifically:

Management of the Design Subconsultants including
1. Production, on-schedule, of key design deliverables that the Engineering Geotechnical team are required to provide to Engineering Design functions, Construction, and the project as a whole.
2. Recording and tracking the flow of geotechnical information through the Engineering Team.
3. Monitoring of the geotechnical resources, works programme and delivery schedules carried out by section design teams.
4. Co-ordination of off-project geotechnical work, and reviews.

Technical reviews of the Design Subconsultants
5. Carrying out limited review of geotechnical documents provided by the Design Subconsultant in accordance with internal geotechnical review procedures.
6. Co-ordination of geotechnical design solutions between the Design Subconsultant, Engineering and Construction,
7. Monitoring and reporting on geotechnical contractor technical performance and, in association with Lead Geotechnical Engineer, taking steps to ensure this where necessary.

Geotechnical support
8. Defining the requirements contained within relevant of Romanian Standards and Normatives
9. Providing technical advice on geotechnical matters raised by construction (Information Requests and Design Change Requests).
10. Providing a broad range of geotechnical advice to the Engineering Team and where necessary the Design Sub-consultant, on matters which require further development to achieve project quality, safety and financial objectives.
