Collaborates with graphic and istructional designers
Translates designs and style guides provided by the design team into functional user interfaces, ensuring cross browser compatibility and performance
Ensures design and user experience quality throughout the development process to launch
Builds software applications – Follows coding standards, builds appropriate unit tests, integration tests and deployment scripts
Contributes to continual improvement by suggesting improvements to user interface, software architecture or new technologies
Strong familiarity with HTML and CSS (and/or Sass, LESS, SCSS, Compass)
Familiarity with JavaScript frameworks and libraries (e.g. YUI3, jQuery, Prototype, Backbone.js, Underscore.js, AngularJS, Modernizr)
Knowledge of cross browser, cross platform implementation techniques and an advocate of web standards
Ability to translate complex workflows into simplified interactions
A passion for design, from high level concept to pixel level detail
Ability to iterate prototypes quickly and switch between different projects in a fast paced environment
Demonstrated production of high quality documentation and design rationale
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Self motivated and able to work independently
Ability to collaborate actively as part of a multidisciplinary team
Nice-to-have qualifications
• Familiarity with HTML5 and CSS3
• Experience with web development (AJAX, Node.js, PHP, Ruby, Python, Java)
• Experience with Flash (AS2 or AS3)
• Experience with designing enterprise level applications with complex workflows
• Experience in Agile software practices (Scrum, continuous integration, automated testing, code reviews)
• Familiarity with OOP & MVC
• Familiarity with source control systems (Git, SVN, Perforce)
• Familiarity with bug tracking software (TRAC, JIRA, Mantis etc.)
