The Data Warehouse / Business Intelligence (BI) Lead developer is a senior IT analyst and designer specializing in developing technical specifications for data warehousing/BI solutions.
The project this position supports is a data warehouse that accumulates, contains, and publishes data and business activities as well as key supporting information.
The data warehouse is built on a platform comprised of MS SQL Server 2008R2 (database engine and reporting services), Visual Studio 2010, MS SQL Server Business Intelligence Studio, Performance Point plus various back-end supporting software. Data are presented in the form of downloadable data, on-screen and printable reports, interactive charts, web data services (both non-spatial and spatial), and interactive, integrated, dynamic maps.
Functional Responsibility:
• The candidate is expected to work to understand business data and reporting requirements then translate those requirement into an overall data warehouse solution (e.g., ETL process, ODS, Warehouse, Data Mart, OLAP) .
• The position also require technical lead coordination of one or two developers.
Work Experience Minimum Qualifications/Education:
• Hands-on experience in MS SQL SSIS & SSAS to model and implement numerous subject-specific and cross-cutting cubes.
• Expert understanding of data warehousing concepts (e.g., CIF, ETL, MDM, OLAP, MOLAP, ODS, metadata management, data marts, star schema, operational vs. analytical reporting, relational vs. dimensional modeling) is required.
• Expert level skills in logical and physical data modeling for relational and dimensional models is required. Specific experience in MS SQL Server 2008R2 data warehouse implementations is also required.
• Strong analytical and communication skills with the enthusiasm to learn the inner workings of a large complex system
• Results-Driven with ability to take initiatives and meet deadlines in a fast paced changing environment
Education and Training:
• 3 or more years experience in Data Warehouse Developer role or warehouse data modeling experience.
• Expert level understanding of data warehousing concepts (e.g., CFI, ETL, MDM, OLAP, ODS, metadata management, data marts, star schema, operational vs. analytical reporting, relational vs. dimensional models, logical vs. physical data models)
