The SaaS group is focused on architecting and delivering web-scale infrastructure services which are used in SaaS projects inside Adobe. We are offering services as: BigData storage and processing, video transcoding, video streaming, video fingerprinting, and social services such as commenting, rating and tagging.
As Sr. Java Developer, you will work with a team of talented software developers and quality engineers within the Adobe SaaS Infrastructure Team. You will contribute to enabling Adobe’s community architecture of participation, leveraging the collective intelligence in an integrated web experience on Adobe.com that provides community-based instruction, inspiration, and support in a dynamic collaboration environment. You will be responsible for taking specific product features through entire life cycle, from requirement analysis to delivery, meeting the reliability, performance and quality targets required in our company. ASIT is an organization providing scalable solutions to new Adobe SaaS or hybrid products such as Photoshop.com, Creative Suite Review, Acrobat.com, Project Rome, Adobe Connect.
Position summary
On this job, you will:
* Work in an agile team to build a scalable and secure service and own multiple features of the product
* Transform requirements into architectural and feature specs Design and implement features, required APIs, test suites or technology according to specifications
* Collaborate with quality engineers to ensure project deliverables meet the required quality standards
* Deploy new releases and ensure production stability
* Perform research on various technologies useful for the project
* Provide status and feedback to management
Knowledge and skills:
* Knowledge of object oriented design principles and design patterns, strong algorithmic and logical skills
* Solid understanding of scalable web based application architectures (RESTful APIs, web services, JMS, or similar)
* Solid foundation in software engineering process & best practices (unit testing, build automation, etc)
* Extensive knowledge and experience with Java Enterprise and JavaScript/AJAX, HTML, CSS, XML
* Knowledge of Java web applications servers (JBoss or similar), databases (MySQL or similar) and Linux operating systems
* Knowledge of at least one scripting language such as shell, Perl, Ruby and of template engines such as Free Marker, Velocity
* Experience with Spring, Hibernate, Struts, Maven, Hudson/Cruise Control is a big plus
* Enthusiastic, creative and have the desire to innovate
* Passionate about computer science, developing software and internet applications
* Enjoys technical challenges and is capable of proposing and evaluating a solution against requirements, demonstrates strong customer focus
* Committed to the highest levels of quality, demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness
* Good written and verbal communication skills
* Spoken and written English proficiency.
