The WebKit team is looking for a talented and motivated C/C++ engineer to join us.
The WebKit team is part of the Flash Runtime team, and works on enabling HTML functionality in Adobe AIR, and soon in other Adobe products.
The Adobe® AIR® 2 runtime enables developers to use HTML, JavaScript, Adobe Flash® software, and ActionScript® to build web applications that run as standalone client applications without the constraints of a browser. Adobe AIR, a key component of the Flash Platform, unleashes the creativity of designers and developers by providing a consistent and flexible development environment for the delivery of applications across devices and platforms. Support for Android™ BlackBerry™ Tablet OS and iOS* mobile operating system, and TVs is now available.
Responsibilities:
* Contribute to integrating the WebKit layout engine in Adobe AIR and other Adobe products
* Improve the WebKit update process
* Work on developing new HTML features in AIR and other Adobe products
* Contribute to the WebKit project on webkit.org;
* University degree (BS/MS) in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or equivalent
* Minimum 5 years of equivalent industry experience
* Minimum 3 years experience in a similar role
* Strong technical background with C/C++ skills
* Design patterns / Architectural skills / Good OO skills / Algorithms & data structures
* Ability to expediently write production code – have contributed to major products / developed
* Interesting applications in the past.
* Ability to write scripts (e.g. python) that speed up processes
* Superior communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Good problem solving and diagnostic skills / debugging capabilities.
* Understanding of how web/browsers work.
* Prior experience approaching a large codebase and quickly ramping up is considered a plus.
* Cross platform development (Win/Mac/others) is considered a plus.
* Mobile experience (Android, WinMo, CocoaTouch) is considered a plus
* Fluent in English (both written and spoken)
