You will lead a strong three-person team responsible for the quality of the software we deliver to customers worldwide. Together with your team, you will use the latest software engineering techniques to develop efficient, automated tests to validate and verify the quality of Avira software products with the aim of achieving continuous improvement. This will focus mainly on high-level integration tests (end-to-end tests) covering multiple systems and development teams.

The test methods you develop together with your team will be part of the development process of our globally successful security solution which our customers really trust and also have high expectations on. Your contribution will be to ensure that our users can use their computers with confidence, even on the Internet.
You will use the latest methods to develop/test software and come equipped with in-depth knowledge of development tools for specification, design, coding, troubleshooting, and version management, as well as manual and automatic tests.
You will maintain the quality of software development projects, consolidate our strategy, standards, procedures, methods, and tools for software development processes in our quality assurance systems, and implement processes accordingly. You will advise development teams as well as organize and help with performing integration, system, and end-to-end tests. Your responsibilities will also include the implementation and automation of procedures and release processes.
Our development process is based on agile methods. You will be conversant with concepts such as "Clean Code", "Pair Programming", and 'Test Driven Development (TDD)'. You will recognize the value of our excellent infrastructure for continuous integration (CI), which includes extensive automation for builds and integration tests, as it will help you to achieve high levels of quality.
You are flexible, highly motivated, and able to work as part of a team. Moreover, you will always be able to rely on your very strong communication skills to explain complex matters so that they can be understood, and you will be happy to work cooperatively with other teams and departments. Your excellent technical knowledge, acquired through your completion of a degree in IT followed by several years' experience of working in the field of software quality assurance, project management, or software development for technical applications, equip you well to manage and motivate a team confidently. You also already have experience of working as a team leader or view a team leader position as the next step on your career ladder.
