Responsible for the entire purchasing process, including procedures and budget control for the Romanian factory;
Working as instructed with Group purchasing;
Identifying alternative sources of supply, with an emphasis on reduced total cost;
Negotiating price levels with suppliers;
Establishing supplier contracts/agreements;
Establishing and maintaining supplier performance;
Ensuring clear effective communication with the suppliers, including updates on their performance, any necessary actions and our future plans;
Developing and maintaining purchasing procedures in line with ERP requirements;
Budget control of purchasing expenditure;
Ensuring materials are ordered and delivered as required to achieve the production plans.
Experience of working within a company utilizing an ERP system preferably with an engineering background;
Min 3-5 years experience as a Purchasing Manager;
In-depth knowledge of MRP;
Ability to understand working drawings;
Fluent in English;
Engineering or Mechanical qualification;
Good commercial acumen;
Strong negotiating skills;
Ability and experience to establish supplier agreements/contracts;
Proven track record of delivering cost reductions and controlling budget spending;
Good communication skills with the ability to lead a small team.

Our client is an international company with 80 years of experience in manufacturing electrical enclosures and components for industrial, electrical and data & telecommunication markets. They are currently in the process of starting up a factory in Romania (Brasov region). The production process will mainly be of traditional sheet metal working machines (punching, presses, welding, painting, etc). Starting from a headcount of zero, within two years they expect the personnel to be approaching 200.
