The developer will:
-Participate in design sessions together with the already established Siemens Corporate Research team
-Implement and test new fuctionalities of the system using the Java/J2EE technology
-Ensure support and bug fixing for the created functionalities
Mandatory requirements:
- Proven Java SE and Java EE experience (at least 2 years of experience)
- Experience using Spring and Hibernate/JPA
- Experience in using and tuning in MS SQL Server and/or Oracle relational databases
- Experience administering and deploying applications on Apache Tomcat
- Knowledge of XML and XML-processing technologies
- Exposure to configuration management (versioning control, continuous integration, Apache Maven)
- B.S./M.S. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or equivalent relevant discipline
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience with RIA/UI frameworks
- Experience with Adobe Flex and ActionScript
- Flex integration with a Java back-end: BlazeDS, Spring BlazeDS, JSP and Servlets
- Familiarity with flex-mojos
- Knowledge of GIS systems and standards (WFS, WMS, KML)
- Experience in processing and analyzing large data sets
- Knowledge of various other open-source Java Frameworks
Processes:
- Good understanding of various software products lifecycles (Waterfall, Agile, etc)
- General knowledge about the so-called ilities: stability, maintainability, scalability, security etc.
Soft skills:
- Strong communication skills (excellent oral and written English skills)
- The ability to work in a peer-to-peer model, and opposed to a hierarchical model
- The ability to anticipate the needs of the project and multitask
- The ability to work in a geographically distributed team
